Herriman UT fire forces 1400 homes to evacuate
Last night a huge wild fire started not far from my home (about 20 miles) that burned 4 homes and threatened hundreds - to the point that 1400 homes were forced to evacuate.
This gives me a unique opportunity that I've not had before. I'm going to spend some time today in Herriman trying to talk to people who had to evacuate and try to find out what they took with them, what they wish they took and how this has effected their perspective on preparedness. More to come soon.

Victims may include those whose homes have not burned since the heat can cause lots of hidden damage that may not be uncovered for weeks or months. Please tell everyone in that area to listen to my blog talk radio show Ready OR Not from last night. The entire show was with a survivor from the San Diego fires and all about what to do before a disaster and what to do after, when dealing with the insurance company. NO ONE should be signing off on anything until they have this information. We will have part two of the discussion on October 19th. Please pass the word.
