The revelation to produce and store food may be as essential to our temporal welfare today as boarding the ark was to the people in the days of Noah. ~ Ezra Taft Benson
This is a great video--high tech graphics aside.Excellent run down of the basic emergency plan.
You may need to call your schools or day care or elderly care centers if your family members will be there and find out what their emergency policies are to complete your plan.
I've talked with someone who gave their older children (teens) a note to check themselves out of school at any time if they received their parents emergency call or text and then they were to go to the elementary school where they had permission to check the younger ones out. Mine are all still in one school and not old enough to check themselves out, so one of us parents has to get to them.
I'm also thinking it might be a good idea to print our plan up small and laminate it and put it in the kids' school backpacks. Just so they don't forget the plan in their panic.
