If you've actually used your 96-hour kit or Bug-Out-Bag (BOB) in real world applications, you know that weight is often the determining factor in the success or failure of your experience.
Shelter is often one of the heaviest items in your kit. If you live in a warmer climate or even as an alternative low-weight shelter option in colder areas, you'll want to consider ultra-thin tarps and ground sheets that you make yourself.
Bob, Delta-69-Lima, at P.A.W Productions has posted three videos on this subject on YouTube. I think you'll find them worth the time to watch both for the real world application and for the hands-on building visuals. If I remember correctly, Bob lets a single cuss word slip out at some point in one of them. (Guys, note that Bob is sewing them himself, so if your sweetheart will let you touch her new sewing machine, you may want to try building them yourself as a training exercise.)
