  1. Organizing a Ward preparedness fair

What has your ward/stake done regarding ward preparedness fairs?

Please share your thoughts, ideas, etc.

One of my previous stakes did this, and I was involved. My stake contacted the city and made it a community wide event, with CERT, Fire, and Police present. The police had Child ID kits and a few other things they wished to impart to the public, the Fire dept had some material (I can't recall what), as did CERT. Each ward was assigned a display topic, and people could go from booth to booth to learn more at each display. One person did canning, another cooking, another 72 hour kits, general food storage. Basically any topic you can think of. My booth was encouraging the youth to prepare and I tried to address common excuses/impedements to general food storage (space, lack of knowledge, etc). We actually had two stakes at the city-wide fair.

Attendance was modest. It was all done at our stake center, but the city was very happy to help and their support was nice.

Our attendance is poor & ppl are generally unintersted.
I believe our ward is poorly prepared even tho we have many well to do families.
I'm glad to hear your city support was helpful.
