Cooking dry beans in a crockpot and a 'caution'
We don't soak dry beans. Just put 2 cups dry, sorted, rinsed beans in a crockpot.
Add 5 to 6 cups water. Cover, cook on low for about 8 hours. Caution: do not add
salt or acid foods such as tomatoes when cooking beans, no matter the cooking
method, as this will inhibit the beans from cooking tender.
