Thread: Glock - 4th Generation Unveiled

  1. Glock - 4th Generation Unveiled

    Glock Gen 4 Unveiled
    http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2...irearm+Blog%29

Ed's Public Safety, a dealer that which calls itself "Georgia's #1 GLOCK Dealer and GLOCK Law Enforcement Distributor", has published photos of the Glock 22 Gen4. I am sure Glock's PR people are pretty annoyed right about now!

So just to summarize all the point about the Glock Gen4 ...
    • Initially Glock 17 (9mm) and Glock 22 (.40 S&W) will be available. Compact models will follow later in 2010.
    • Features duel recoil spring which should increase reliability.
    • Features Swappable backstraps.
    • Magazine release swappable between left and right.
    • Old magazines still work, but only when mag release is on left side.
    • Gen4 slide is clearly marked as "Gen4".
    • Retail price for G17 and G22 Gen4 is about $700 (actual prices will be lower than this).
    • Glock will cease sales of the 3rd Generation and RTF models.

  3. my next pistol. I really like the larger mag release.

I was thinking of upgrading my current springs for the gen 4 spring. anyone know if they are for sale yet?

  4. Re: Glock - 4th Generation Unveiled

4th gen Glocks are for sale now, but distributor availability is sporadic. Dealer cost is only $25 above 3rd Gen.

Wow, improving on Glock's reliability is fully impressive, as, if I understand correctly, they are already the only thing a person can shoot all day and not have it misfire.

Wow, looking forward to this! Thanks, Darin. How 'bout a recruiting contest with a Glock Gen4 as the prize...?

shine-- can you put one of these puppies together? Or is a handgun not put-together-able like an AR-15? -- Shows ya how much I know... which is why I'm asking the experts.

    hi ang,

Yea glocks are non puzzle. pretty much most pistols and rifles are that way. AR15 are so prolific that so many manufacturers make parts for them. boy you can rally end up with junk if you are not careful.

About my glock, havent had a single ftf, fte, ftfire. its a 22 so the recoil is more manageable with the double spring. I am carrying it as my concealed now. til i get something smaller.

Re: Glock - 4th Generation Unveiled

Hey, thanks for the update, bro. More questions:

-- How can a person tell the junk AR15 parts from the good ones?

-- Why a 22 and not a .380 or .40 or .45? Is the 22 really that much smaller to be able to carry vs. the others?

-- Please translate: "ftf, fte, ftfire" I'm guessing that means misfire? My gun-lingo Urim & Thummim is a little dusty. Although maybe I should ask privately, as I have gotten an earful, before, for asking what certain acronyms mean, lol!

-- Last question-- when is your pink-o-flage model going to be on line? Sisters: pink-o-flage is the bomb when it comes to your one-of-a-kind, personal, custom-made AR15. Perfect for the range where true cammoflage is not a requirement, of course. PM shine for details. I can't wait to get me some of that pink lovin'! But maybe I'd better be practical and sensible and get the pink Glock Gen4, first. But wait... I wonder if that comes in a faux fur handgrip... Leopoard or zebra print? Decisions, decisions...

  11. Re: Glock - 4th Generation Unveiled

my glock is a 40 caliber. its model number is 22. its a fullsize 40 caliber.
    glock
    17- fullsize 9mm
    18- fullsize full auto 9mm
    19- compact 9mm
    21 fullsize 45 cal
    22 fullsize 40 cal
    23 compact 40 caliber
    26- subcompact 9mm
    27- subcompact 40
    30- subcompact 45

there are more, but those are the most common.

there are 3 basic types of malfunctions related to guns. if it malfunctions, it will be one of these:

    Type I: Failure to fire
    Type II: Failure to eject
    Type III: Failure to feed

I can do the pinkoflage right now. all i need is a deposit, so i can order the duracoat and stencils.
turn around is about 8 days. i haven't done one yet, cos a person has to be SURE, they wanna go pinko, or any coat.
