I was just called to be the Food Storage Specialist. One thing I have done to make it easier for the ward members to get their long term storage is this:

Every third weekend (Fri. and Sat.) in the morning, I invite anyone who would like to my home where I have rented the canner from the Mesa Home Storage Center. I pick it up on Thursday and return it on Tuesday (they are closed on Mondays). So, if I have something to can, I have access to it that whole time. But anyone in the ward can come over and bring whatever food they have and can it - no matter how much or how little. I do collect their money to pay for the cans/lids/oxygen absorbers. I just started this, so I don't have a track record, but I did have two women come this last weekend!

Just hoping to make it easier for everyone! I am also planning on creating a blog for our ward and anyone else to happens to find it.
