  1. Skinning, Gutting & Butchering a Rabbit

This is how I skin a rabbit.

Another method, including gutting it and some ideas for cooking and storing with oil (although I'd prefer BBQ).

  2. Killing a Rabbit

The following videos show how to kill a rabbit.

***Please note, these videos and information show the killing of rabbits.***

These are for educational purposes. It is important to do it right or you'll run into some very uncomfortable situations and it is important to be as humane as possible, minimizing any pain for the rabbit.

Take the hide feet in your left hand and hang it upside down. Then take your thumb and index finger and wrap them around the base of the skull right behind the ears. Give a sudden jerk downward and this will break their neck. Next chop their head off and butcher as normal.

Breaking the neck is painless and quick. If you're worried about whether you're doing it right or not, please have someone who has done it help you out.

A very bad picture of this, but it's all I could find:

Not a great demonstration, but close...

Another using a useful tool. It's the same concept as using your hand, but using a tool instead.

Some people will get a thick wooden dowel, ax handle or metal bar/pipe and strike the rabbit on the back of the head like this illustration.
(Except this picture shows using a hand for the blow... don't! Use a hard object instead.
