    Re: Hand Drill Fire Starting

This method of fire starting is quite difficult for most people to master. It requires no resources brought with you wich makes it a great emergency method for fire starting. However, it does take a lot of practice. It does also require better environmental conditions than other methods, meaning the more wet and or more humid it is, it makes this method very difficult to start a fire in real life. The cole you get from this method is quite small compared to other methods, and is therefor much more delicate, and susseptable to humidity. Your quality of tinder is much more important with this method also. The hand drill will surely give you blisters on your hands before you get your first fire. This method is best meant for people with good coordination, tough working hands and upper body conditioning.
