These lists are my personal lists and your's should reflect your personal wants, needs, abilities and space available. By no means do I claim to have the perfect lists or have all the ideas. Some of these are for overnight camping, to evacuation and coming home later and then also lists for evacuation without being able to come home ever. Please do not misinterpret my lists as being what YOU should have. Please use them as thought provokers to help you get better prepared for what ever might come along.

As far a my personal lists I live on a meager income with a few resources available. I am though very resourceful. However I have been preparing seriously for close to 30 years and minimally since I was a youth. I have many things that most people do not and what I have on my lists should NEVER be construed as a "keep up with the Moravec's" challenge. Remember I have had 30 years to work on this.

My council would be to ALWAYS work with in your budgets. Do the best you can. Budget a certain amount each month (even if it is only $5.00 but a consistent $5.00) and work with that. I have gone from $200.00 to $5.00 to a current $20.00 a month over the years as my financial situation has changed over the years.

Start with the basics. Start with what the LDS church recommends and build from there. If TEOTWAWKI happens tomorrow then so be it. Leave the rest up to the Lord. However I caution you very strongly to do everything (repeat everything) with in your power and budget to accomplish what you can and what the Lord has asked you to do. Then leave the rest in the Lords hands.

Sit down and make a list of what you would like to purchase, make or acquire and then put them in a list according to importance, cost, and budget available. Then make a monthly list of what you what to accomplish that month. Post it in a conspicuous place so that the whole family sees it and can participate in it. I personally keep a copy on my palm pilot that I review regularly. The go about accomplishing that list. Don't worry that it is not completed tomorrow. I personally have lists "to do" and "to buy" that extend all the way to 2012. Yes, I am OCD if you have not figured that out yet. OCD or not I get things done and it mainly because I budget and plan everything out. If a disaster, emergency or TEOTWAWKI happens to come in the middle of those plans . . . oh well . . . life goes on and we will work with it or around it.

Again I am far from the authority on all of this but I do have 30 plus years of intensive preparations where I try everything. I can tell you what works and what does not because "been there, done that". I am willing to share what I can and look up, try, or find out what I do not know.

Good luck in your plans.
