Just joined but have been working on self sufficiency since the 70's. Was wondering if there was anyone in my area that would like to correspond or buddy up? I live in Griffin, Georgia.
Thanks,
Darlene

I like the idea.. Although I am in Utah. Wonder if it might not be a great idea to know who is around .. for all of us.. I know many of my neighbors dont know or want to know the first thing about being ready..

Hi,
Caught my attention. I was born in So. Ruislip. Dad was US Air Force Civil Service. How many members are there where you live? Maybe you can spark an interest and get them to build you what you need or adapt an existing facility. The church is really good about getting what you need if you talk to the right people. If I can help let me know.

Hello to all. I'm in Chandler, AZ.
Just because we're not geographically close, doesn't man we can't share ideas.
I'm definitely not the uber knowledge on all things regarding preparedness, but do consider myself fairly squared away.
rlewis... small world, my wife (who is 49 was also born in South Ruislip, UK. Her Dad was USAF too.

So I'll start... assuming you have lots of food, water and other necessities, is having some silver and/or gold on hand a good idea?
Would you consider this a hedge against hyper inflation, a barter tool in a quasi collapse, or what?
Or... do you say precious metals would be a waste of money that should go toward something more important?

Throw some questions out there, but remember some of them might have already been answered else where on this site... :)
