Welcome to LDS Preppers! We want to create a vibrant community focused on helping each other become better prepared. This is a brand new community, there are no established 'cliques' or inroads to be made to become part of it, just dive in and start getting to know and help one another!
Here are 10 super easy things you can do to become involved in the community.
Register! If you haven't registered yet, go do it now! You're welcome to continue viewing posts as a guest, but to become involved in the community you'll need an identity! Be sure to tell us who referred you!
Personalize Your Account! Follow this Link: http://www.ldspreppers.com/profile.php?do=editprofile and you can do all kinds of things with your account, add a signature that will show up on every post you make, upload an avatar (picture), personalize your information, etc.
Introduce Yourself! Go to this thread: http://www.ldspreppers.com/showthread.php/210-New-Member-Check-In and introduce yourself.
Start a Blog! Along with posting generally in the forum, a blog lets you create a threaded list of posts that you control. You can discuss anything you like on your blog, preparedness related or not. This link will take you to the blog section: http://www.ldspreppers.com/blog.php look on the right and you'll see a big button that says "Create New Post". Click it and it will create a brand new blog for you and let you post.
Let Everyone Know What You're Doing! Go to this thread: http://www.ldspreppers.com/showthread.php/2531-What-Have-You-Done-To-Prepare-Today and start discussing regularly what baby steps you're taking to be better prepared.
Check the Live Feed! The easiest way to stay up on conversations is to park on the Live Feed (http://www.ldspreppers.com/recentposts.php) and respond to posts as soon as they come in. We suggest you keep the Live Feed open all day and night and become addicted to checking it! ;) You can get there with this link: http://www.ldspreppers.com/recentposts.php
Speak Up! Everybody likes to be responded to - even if it just says "I love it!". Join the conversation. If you don't have anything to say but you enjoyed the post, click the ThankYou button on the post and let them know!
Start a New Thread! Contribute to the preparedness discussion by starting new topics. Even if it's asking questions, ask away and get dozens of answers! Or, you can start a thread with a comment, re-posting something cool you found on the internet (make sure you leave a link back to it to cite the source) or write your own article and post it. Everyone has experience in different areas, share yours with us!
Become a Community Preparedness Leader! We are actively searching for those who are or who have experience with Community Preparedness. If you're LDS, this might be as a Ward or Stake Preparedness position, if you're not, any community preparedness experience qualifies you to become a leader in our community. Just let us know here: http://www.ldspreppers.com/showthread.php/2535-Ward-Stake-Preparedness-Specialists-Check-In!
Invite Your Friends! Let everyone know about this site so that they can utilize this knowledge base to get better prepared. There is no better place on the internet to find information about emergency preparedness, food storage and provident living! And best of all... it's FREE!
