Hi folks. I found this forum after searching for survival content on the web about six months ago. After realizing that I'd finally come across some people who were into practical actions and generally sane :) I had to sign up. I was dead tired of reading the writing of or listening to the speech of people who were interesting and smart, yet had a few fundamental things wrong because they were intending to do this as a trendy thing to impress others or were hooked on crackpot conspiracy theories of apocalypse and alien invasion.

I really enjoy the content that you as a community put out and reading a few of the newer forum posts has confirmed my assessment. So, here I am. I've been into survivalism for quite awhile now and not really in a prepping for WROL and SHTF sense, but preparing like I was taught to do in the scouts and what makes sense to do in a practical and realistic manner. Of course, I do value self defense and know that I can't bet that someone is going to defend myself and those I care about but me.

I've also started a blog of my own and have written a book recently and had it published a few days ago on Kindle for PC, Android, iPhone and Kindles as well as have it up on SmashWords, Lulu, iBooks, Barnes & Noble Nook and soon Google Books and other marketplaces.

If you're interested, the title of my book is The Guide To Living, Volume 1: Urban, Rural and Bush Living, Emergency Preparedness and Survival.

I'm also giving it away for free (digital copy, in PDF and EPUB) to to those retired from, were in the past are currently in the law enforcement, medical, wilderness, outdoors, disaster management or fire department careers. I don't want your ID, just send me an e-mail or PM me here on this forum (the e-mail is on that page) telling me what you have done or do for a living.

I detail how to contact me to get a free copy on my blog, Survive2.com on this post (http://www.survive2.com/guide-to-living/free-copy-of-my-book-the-guide-to-living-to-those-currently-employed-or-retired-from-careers-in-law-enforcement-fire-department-wilderness-outdoors-military-or-medical-fields-in-any-country/), so if you like you can read it, contact me and get a free copy. Otherwise, it's $2.99 on the various marketplaces.

There's a post on my blog that details the book here (http://www.survive2.com/guide-to-living/my-first-book-the-guide-to-living-volume-1-is-published-today/) that also links to the various marketplaces to read a description, read a 15 page sample or purchase it.
