i have to start by saying i am a trapper, and a trapper ed instructor with the DNR..now, although i do use modern traps, i tend to specialize in snares and primative traps...in my opinion, these are the only practical trapping methods for anyone who would "bug out"...i dont need to take anything with me into the wilderness except my skills and knowledge...i cant see anyone bugging out on foot and taking traps and supplies with them...
now, as we sit today, not bugging out, the modern traps work great and i do use them...but i make sure my other skills are sharp and ready, and am fully prepared to bug out without my traps and still continue to obtain food on the go..
